Training With 5M–25M GP

This budget opens Mahogany Homes Adept contracts and Oak Larders. You can comfortably reach level 70–83, unlocking most essential POH features including the Gilded Altar and basic pools.

Training With 25M–100M GP

Consider Oak Dungeon Doors or Mahogany Homes Expert contracts. This budget range lets you push to level 83–99 using cost-efficient methods that balance speed and spending.

Unlimited Budget Training

With 100M+ GP, use Mahogany Tables or Gnome Benches for maximum XP rates. You can reach 99 Construction in approximately 14 hours at the cost of 150M+ GP.

Lowest GP Investment

Mahogany Homes offers the cheapest route at ~3.2 GP/XP. Expert contracts (level 70+) give ~280K XP/hour while using minimal planks.

Balanced Cost & XP

Oak Larders and Oak Dungeon Doors offer excellent GP/XP ratios (5.9–9.8 GP/XP) with respectable XP rates (180K–200K XP/hr).

Fastest XP Regardless of Cost

Mahogany Tables (900K XP/hr) and Gnome Benches (950K XP/hr) are the fastest but cost ~14 GP/XP.

Ironman-Friendly Approach

Ironmen should prioritize Mahogany Homes as it uses fewer planks per XP, conserving their hard-earned resources.

Long-Term Maxing Strategy

If you're planning to max all skills, budget Construction carefully. Allocate funds for levels 83 (essential POH) and save remaining GP for other expensive skills.

Planks

Planks consume 75–90% of your total Construction budget. This is the largest single expense and the main factor in method selection.

Butler Fees

Butler wages add 10–20% to your total cost. The Demon Butler costs ~1,563 GP per trip but saves enormous amounts of training time.

Additional Materials

Some furniture requires extra materials like steel bars or gold leaf. These typically add 1–5% to total cost.

Teleport Costs

House teleport tabs (~340 GP each), Ring of Dueling charges, and other teleportation expenses add 1–2% to your budget.

Miscellaneous Expenses

Saw replacement, building mode teleports, and accidental waste can add 1–3%. Always budget a small buffer.

When Mahogany Homes Saves Millions

For levels 1–99, Mahogany Homes costs ~42M GP versus ~150M for Mahogany Tables — saving over 100M GP. The trade-off is roughly 30 more hours of training.

When Traditional Furniture Is Worth It

If your time is worth more than ~3M GP/hour (from other money-making methods), the speed of Mahogany Tables justifies the higher cost.

Approximately 800K–2M GP using Oak methods. Unlocks Portal Chamber and basic POH rooms.

Approximately 5M–15M GP. Unlocks Mahogany Homes Expert contracts and Gilded Altar (with boost).

Budget for Level 83 (POH Unlocks)

Approximately 12M–40M GP. This is the key milestone — with Crystal Saw + Spicy Stew, you can build Ornate Pool, Jewellery Box, and Portal Nexus.

Budget for Level 90

Approximately 25M–80M GP. Unlocks Ornate Rejuvenation Pool without boosting.

Budget for Level 99

Approximately 42M–155M GP depending on method. Earns the Construction Cape with unlimited POH teleport.

Monitor Grand Exchange Prices

Buy planks when prices dip. A 5% price drop on 100K planks saves millions.

Choose Better GP per XP Methods

Switching from Mahogany Tables to Oak Dungeon Doors saves ~8 GP/XP — that's 100M+ savings over 13M XP.

Mix Training Methods
