Target Level XP − Current XP using the official OSRS experience table.
Successful Cooks = ⌈XP Remaining ÷ XP per Successful Cook⌉. Only successful cooks give XP — burns give zero XP.
Raw Food = ⌈Successful Cooks ÷ (1 − Burn Rate)⌉. Accounts for expected burn losses based on your level, gauntlets, and location.
Burn Rate = max(0, (Stop Level − Current Level) ÷ (Stop Level − Required Level) × 0.5 − Location Bonus). Adjusted for gauntlets.
Cost = Raw Food × Raw Price. Revenue = Successful Cooks × Cooked Price. Profit = Revenue − Cost.
XP/hr = XP per Cook × Cooks per Hour × (1 − Burn Rate). Burns reduce your effective hourly XP rate.
You can start wines at 35 with some failures. At 68, wines never fail. The speed advantage outweighs early wine failures.
Complete Family Crest as soon as possible. The burn rate reduction pays for itself many times over in saved food.
The 5% burn reduction is especially valuable for sharks and anglerfish where even a few percent burn rate matters financially.
Raw fish prices fluctuate daily. A fish that loses money today might profit tomorrow.
Don't cook expensive fish when burn rates are still high. Wait until you're close to the burn-stop level for maximum profit.
Advanced players can cook Karambwans at double speed using tick manipulation. This doubles your XP/hr but requires constant attention.
