GP per XP (gold pieces per experience point) is the standard metric for measuring the cost efficiency of any buyable training method in OSRS. A lower GP/XP means cheaper training, while a higher GP/XP indicates more expensive methods.
GP/XP = (Item Cost × Items per Action) ÷ XP per Action. For example, Oak Larders use 8 Oak Planks (586 GP each) for 480 XP, giving a GP/XP of (586 × 8) ÷ 480 = 9.8 GP/XP.
It lets you directly compare the cost of different training methods. A method with 5 GP/XP is exactly half the cost of one at 10 GP/XP, regardless of XP rates or other factors.
Cheaper methods (low GP/XP) are usually slower. Expensive methods (high GP/XP) are usually faster. Finding your personal sweet spot depends on how much GP you have vs how much time you want to spend.
