Barbarian Fishing wins on XP/hr (~38K vs ~30K). Tempoross wins on rewards (permits, unique items) and provides a more varied experience. For pure efficiency: Barbarian. For enjoyment: Tempoross.
Karambwans are better food for PvM (tick-eating). Anglerfish heal more per bite. Karambwans are more click-intensive. Anglerfish are extremely AFK. For Ironmen: Karambwans. For AFK GP: Anglerfish.
Minnows give more sharks per hour than direct shark fishing. You need level 82 and Angler Outfit for Minnows access. Direct shark fishing is more AFK but slower profits.
Monkfish (120 XP, level 62) outperform lobsters (90 XP, level 40) in every category. Switch as soon as you complete Swan Song quest for Piscatoris access.
Tick manipulation (2-tick Swordfish, 3-tick Barbarian) doubles XP rates but requires constant attention. AFK fishing is 30-50% slower but requires minimal input. Choose based on session length.
