About the Ironman Construction Calculator OSRS

Start With Your Resources — Not Your GP. Unlike regular Construction calculators, this calculator begins with the resources you actually own. Enter your banked logs, current planks, and available materials to get a realistic Ironman training plan. or head back to the main construction calculator OSRS for a full 1-99 breakdown.

Whether you're a standard Ironman, Hardcore Ironman, or Ultimate Ironman, this tool calculates logs required, plank conversion costs, Kingdom resource integration, gathering time estimates, and the optimal training route based on what you already have.

Before You Train: Can You Actually Supply the Materials?

Ironman Resource Readiness Flow

Current Resources Count Logs & Planks Enough Materials? ✅ Train! ❌ Gather Resources 🔄 Calculate Again

Already Have Enough Logs?

If your banked logs + current planks meet or exceed the calculator's requirement, you can start training immediately. The calculator highlights when your resources are sufficient.

Need More Planks?

The calculator shows exactly how many additional logs you need to gather. It factors in your current stock and tells you the remaining deficit to fill before training.

Planning Around Kingdom Resources

Toggle Kingdom Resources to factor in passive teak/mahogany logs from Kingdom of Miscellania. At maximum approval with all workers on mahogany, you receive ~300 mahogany logs/week.

Mixing Multiple Log Types

The calculator automatically selects the best log type based on your largest stockpile. If you have 5,000 teak and 200 mahogany, it'll recommend a teak-based plan.

Resource Deficit Summary

The results dashboard clearly shows: logs you have, logs you need, the gap, and estimated gathering time. No surprises when you start training.

Sawmill Conversion

The fastest way to convert logs to planks. Costs 100 GP (regular), 250 GP (oak), 500 GP (teak), or 1,500 GP (mahogany) per plank. Run logs from your bank to the Woodcutting Guild sawmill for the closest bank-to-sawmill distance.

Plank Make Spell

Lunar spellbook spell (level 86 Magic). Converts logs to planks anywhere using runes. Costs more than sawmill but is more AFK and can be done while bankstanding. Excellent for ironmen with rune stockpiles.

Kingdom of Miscellania

After completing Throne of Miscellania, assign workers to gather teak or mahogany logs passively. This is the most efficient long-term plank source for Ironmen — generates planks while you do other activities.

Woodcutting Everything Yourself

Chop teaks on Fossil Island or mahogany trees. Teaks are faster to chop, and Fossil Island has convenient deposit boxes. This doubles as Woodcutting XP training.

Mixed Supply Strategy

The recommended Ironman approach: Kingdom for passive logs, Woodcutting for active gathering, Plank Make for convenient conversion. This balanced strategy minimizes total time spent on Construction preparation.

Plan Around Your Next House Upgrade

Ironman POH Progress Map

🏠 Starter House 🔨 Workshop (Lvl 15) 🌀 Portal Chamber (Lvl 50) 💎 Jewellery Box (Lvl 83) 💧 Ornate Pool (Lvl 82) 🏆 Maxed House

Early Utility Rooms

Level 15: Workshop for armour repair. Level 20: Bedroom for servant hiring. These early rooms are cheap and provide immediate utility for Ironmen.

Teleport Hub

Level 50: Portal Chamber unlocks basic teleport setup. This is a game-changing upgrade for Ironmen who rely heavily on travel efficiency for clue scrolls and questing.

Workshop Improvements

Higher Construction levels unlock better workshop benches. At level 55, you can build an Oak Workbench for flatpack creation. The workshop is essential for Ironmen who repair barrows equipment.

Ornate Pool Progression

Level 82 (boosted to 90): The Ornate Rejuvenation Pool is the #1 priority upgrade for PvM Ironmen. Full HP, prayer, special attack, and run energy restoration in one click.

Achievement Gallery Goals

Level 80: Unlocks the Achievement Gallery for fairy ring, spirit tree, and jewellery box placement. This room is essential for endgame Ironman efficiency.

Max House Planning

A maxed Ironman house requires level 83 (boostable to 91+). Plan your training to stop at 83 unless going for 99 — that's where all essential POH features become buildable.

Resource Routes for Every Stage of an Ironman

Fresh Ironman

Focus on oak logs from tree runs. Build Oak Chairs (level 19+) to get started. Don't waste time gathering expensive logs early — oak is plentiful and efficient for early levels.

Mid-Game Account

Transition to teak logs from Fossil Island. Start Kingdom of Miscellania for passive teak/mahogany income. Use Mahogany Homes Adept contracts for the best plank efficiency.

Quest-Focused Progression

Complete Throne of Miscellania and Royal Trouble early for Kingdom access. The Lunar Diplomacy quest unlocks Plank Make spell at 86 Magic. These quests directly improve Construction efficiency.

PvM Preparation

Before grinding bosses, get Construction to at least 82 for the Ornate Pool. The pool saves inventory slots on every trip by eliminating the need for restore potions and food between kills.

Late-Game Maxing

For 99 Construction, bulk-chop mahogany on Fossil Island or use Kingdom exclusively. Expert Mahogany Homes contracts are the most plank-efficient method for the final push.

Recommended ForIronmenMain Accounts

Mahogany Homes remains one of the most resource-efficient Construction methods and is widely recommended for Ironmen despite slower XP rates. The plank savings compound significantly — using 40-50% fewer planks means 40-50% less time woodcutting and converting logs.

Mostly Oak Logs

Oak Larders (480 XP, 8 planks) remain the standard budget method. Good for levels 33-50 before switching to MH.

Mostly Teak Logs

Teak with MH Adept gives the best XP per plank. Recommended primary strategy for mid-game Ironmen.

Mostly Mahogany Logs

MH Expert contracts maximize XP per mahogany plank. Use only when you have large mahogany stockpiles.

Mixed Inventory

Use each log type at its optimal method. Don't convert everything to one type — that wastes resources.

Limited Resources

Focus on teak from Fossil Island. Teaks are the fastest to chop with the best XP/plank ratio through Adept contracts.

Hidden Ironman Costs Players Forget

Sawmill Fees

Converting logs at the sawmill costs GP. Teak costs 500 GP/plank, Mahogany costs 1,500 GP/plank. Over thousands of planks, this adds up to millions.

Magic Rune Costs

Plank Make spell requires Astral, Nature, and Earth runes per cast. Factor in rune gathering time and costs when choosing this conversion method.

Kingdom Maintenance

Kingdom requires 75K GP/day for maximum efficiency. That's ~2.25M GP per month. Ensure you have stable GP income to maintain Kingdom workers.

Travel Between Banks

Running between banks and sawmills or training locations costs time. Optimize your route: Woodcutting Guild sawmill is the shortest bank-to-mill distance.

Extra Plank Waste

Sometimes you'll have leftover planks from contracts. Track your inventory to minimize waste and use remaining planks efficiently.

Inventory Management Time

UIM players face additional challenges with inventory space. Plan plank creation and training in focused sessions to minimize management overhead.

Smart Planning Tips for Efficient Ironman Construction

Gather Before You Grind

Collect all logs and convert to planks before starting your Construction session. Interrupting training to gather resources kills efficiency.

Don't Convert Every Log Immediately

Keep some logs in the bank for future needs. You might need them for quests, clue scrolls, or different furniture types later.

Combine Kingdom With Woodcutting

Use Kingdom for passive teak/mahogany income while actively chopping when you need to. This dual approach maximizes log collection.

Upgrade Your House in Phases

Don't try to build everything at once. Get the Ornate Pool first (level 82), then Jewellery Box (83), then Portal Nexus (84). Each phase provides immediate utility.

Track Materials Instead of GP

As an Ironman, your bottleneck is materials, not GP. The calculator focuses on resource counts rather than just gold costs.

Prioritize Utility Unlocks Before 99

Level 83 unlocks everything you need. Only push to 99 if you want the Construction Cape teleport or max cape. The utility difference between 83 and 99 is minimal.

Common Ironman Construction Mistakes

  • Training before gathering enough logs — Calculate your full requirement first, then gather everything in one batch.
  • Ignoring Mahogany Homes efficiency — MH uses 40-50% fewer planks per XP. Don't skip it.
  • Wasting rare logs on low-value furniture — Use mahogany logs for Expert contracts, not random furniture.
  • Forgetting sawmill conversion costs — Budget 500-1,500 GP per plank for sawmill fees.
  • Overproducing planks too early — Only convert what you need. Log prices and methods may change.
  • Chasing XP instead of house upgrades — Focus on reaching 82-83 for utility, not 99 for bragging rights.
  • Ignoring Kingdom resource management — Keep Kingdom approval at 100% and collect regularly.
