What Does This Slayer Calculator Actually Calculate?

XP Progress

Uses the official OSRS XP table to calculate exact XP remaining from your current level to your target. Level 92 is the halfway point to 99 Slayer.

Slayer Assignments

Estimates the number of tasks needed based on your selected master's average XP per assignment. Accounts for blocked task efficiency improvements.

Estimated Slayer Points

Calculates total points including milestone bonuses: every 10th task (5×), 50th (15×), 100th (25×), 250th (35×), and 1000th (50×) task multipliers.

Task Frequency

Higher-level masters assign longer tasks with more XP. Blocked tasks redistribute weight to remaining assignments, improving average XP per task.

Average Time Required

Estimates total hours based on ~30 minutes per average task. Actual time varies with task type, gear, and multi-combat efficiency.

Profit Projection

Each master has different average GP per task based on their assignment pool. Higher-level masters generally assign more profitable monsters.

Unlock Progress

Tracks which monster unlocks, Slayer helm upgrades, and reward purchases become available as you accumulate Slayer points.

Build Your Most Efficient Slayer Route

Planning your Slayer route is about matching your goals with the right master, block list, and task strategy.

Fast XP Route

Use Duradel or Nieve with an optimized block list. Burst/barrage dust devils, nechryaels, and smoke devils. Skip low-XP tasks immediately. Cannon everything possible. Expect 40K-70K Slayer XP/hr.

Balanced XP & Profit Route

Use Duradel with moderate skipping. Complete profitable tasks (gargoyles, kurasks, basilisk knights) while skipping truly bad tasks. Block the worst XP/GP tasks.

Maximum GP Route

Use Konar for bonus Brimstone Keys. Complete boss tasks (Cerberus, Kraken, Sire). Extend profitable tasks like Gargoyles and Basilisk Knights.

Ironman Progression

Focus on Nieve/Duradel for consistent drops. Prioritize tasks that drop useful items: Dust Devils (supplies), Kurasks (leaf-bladed), Gargoyles (alchs). Block tasks with no useful drops.

Wilderness Slayer Route

Use Krystilia for 25 points per task — the highest base rate. Risk vs reward: better points and Larran's Keys, but PK danger. Best for quickly accumulating Slayer points.

Optimize Every Assignment

When to Skip Tasks

Skip tasks that give poor XP and no valuable drops. Tasks like Iron/Steel Dragons, Spiritual Creatures (without diary), and Suqahs are commonly skipped. Each skip costs 30 Slayer points.

When to Extend Tasks

Extend profitable or high-XP tasks: Dust Devils, Nechryaels, Gargoyles, Basilisk Knights, Abyssal Demons. Extensions double the task length for an additional 100 Slayer points.

Best Block List Strategy

Block the highest-weight bad tasks first. For Duradel: Greater Demons, Black Demons (if not doing Demonic Gorillas), Hellhounds, Fire Giants. Check task weights before blocking.

Task Weight Explained

Each task has a "weight" determining how often it's assigned. Higher weight = more frequent. Blocking high-weight bad tasks redistributes that weight to remaining (better) tasks.

Assignment Probability

Probability = task weight ÷ total remaining weight. Blocking 6 tasks removes their combined weight, increasing the chance of getting preferred assignments like Dust Devils and Nechs.

Bonus Point Cycles

Every 10th task gives 5× points, 50th gives 15×, 100th gives 25×. Some players do 9 Turael tasks then 1 high-point master task to maximize points per hour (Turael boosting).

Slayer Unlock Priority Guide

Early Unlocks

Slayer Helm (400 pts) — Essential first purchase. Combines Nosepeg, Facemask, Earmuffs, and Black Mask. Broader Fletching (300 pts) for Ironmen making broad bolts.

Mid-Game Unlocks

Slayer Ring (300 pts) for fast teleports to Slayer locations. Extend tasks (100 pts each) for profitable assignments like Dust Devils and Gargoyles.

Late-Game Unlocks

Block list expansion (once you know your preferred task list). Superior Encounters (150 pts) for bonus XP and rare Heart drop chance.

Boss Unlocks

Like a Boss (200 pts) to receive boss-only assignments. Enables Cerberus, Kraken, Thermy, Grotesque Guardians, and Alchemical Hydra tasks.

QoL Unlocks

Herb Sack (750 pts) saves inventory space during tasks. Rune Pouch (from LMS or Slayer) for magic tasks. Bigger and Badder for superior encounters.

Common Planning Mistakes This Calculator Helps Prevent

  • Choosing the wrong Slayer Master — Using Turael when you have the combat level for Duradel wastes huge amounts of time and points.
  • Ignoring task weighting — Blocking a low-weight task barely impacts your assignment pool. Block high-weight bad tasks first.
  • Wasting Slayer Points — Skipping too many tasks or buying cosmetics before essential unlocks like Slayer Helm and task extensions.
  • Blocking low-impact tasks — Check task weights before blocking. Some annoying tasks have very low weight and are rarely assigned.
  • Extending inefficient assignments — Only extend tasks that are both high XP and profitable. Extending bad tasks doubles the pain.
  • Overlooking bonus task milestones — Every 10th, 50th, and 100th task gives bonus points. Plan your skips around these milestones.

Tips to Reach Your Target Slayer Level Faster

  • Efficient task selection — Use Duradel with a curated block list for optimal XP/task ratio.
  • Multi-combat bursting — Burst/barrage Dust Devils, Nechryaels, and Smoke Devils for 50K-100K Slayer XP/hr.
  • Cannon usage — Cannon Dagannoth, Kalphite, Suqah, and other multi-combat tasks to dramatically increase kill speed.
  • Prayer optimization — Use Protect From Melee on melee tasks, Preserve prayer, and house pool between tasks.
  • Gear upgrades — Imbued Slayer Helm, best-in-slot weapons, Expeditious/Slaughter bracelets for task manipulation.
  • Point conservation — Don't waste points on skips for easy tasks. Save for extends, blocks, and unlocks.
  • Master progression — Move from Vannaka → Chaeldar → Nieve → Duradel as your combat level allows.
