Teak Trees at Fossil Island or Ape Atoll provide the fastest Woodcutting XP at ~85 XP/log. With 2-tick manipulation, expect 100K+ XP/hr. Standard chopping gives ~50-60K XP/hr.
Redwood Trees in the Woodcutting Guild are the ultimate AFK tree. Long cut cycles, 380 XP/log, and proximity to bank. Expect ~26K XP/hr with minimal attention.
Forestry events trigger in dedicated worlds, providing bonus XP and Forestry Kit items. Great for social Woodcutting with group bonuses and varied gameplay.
Magic Trees at ~900 GP each or Yew Trees at ~200 GP each. Magic logs in the WC Guild provide the best GP/hr for Woodcutting at ~45K GP/hr.
Ironmen should prioritize Teak and Mahogany on Fossil Island for Construction planks. Bank logs, then use the Plank Make spell or Sawmill for planks.
The Beaver pet is obtained while Woodcutting. Higher-level trees have lower base pet chances, so Redwoods (1/72,321) or tick-manipulated Teaks give the most rolls per hour.
The Woodcutting Guild provides an invisible +7 Woodcutting boost (without unlocking higher-level trees), while Forestry rewards cooperative chopping with additional bonuses and events.

Dragon Axe (level 61) has a +3 boost special. Crystal Axe (level 71) is 15% faster than Dragon and has the same special. Infernal Axe burns 1/3 of logs for Firemaking XP.
