Calculate logs needed, GP value, training time, and find the best trees for your level. or head back to the main construction calculator OSRS for a full 1-99 breakdown.

Whether you're chopping Teaks for fast XP, AFK Redwoods for relaxed training, banking Magic logs for profit, gathering Construction supplies, or participating in Forestry events, this calculator handles Lumberjack outfit, WC Guild, and Forestry bonuses.

Choose the Forest That Matches Your Goal

Instead of selecting a tree first, users select the environment they want to train in.

Fast-Leveling Forest

Teak Trees at Fossil Island or Ape Atoll provide the fastest Woodcutting XP at ~85 XP/log. With 2-tick manipulation, expect 100K+ XP/hr. Standard chopping gives ~50-60K XP/hr.

AFK Forest

Redwood Trees in the Woodcutting Guild are the ultimate AFK tree. Long cut cycles, 380 XP/log, and proximity to bank. Expect ~26K XP/hr with minimal attention.

Forestry Worlds

Forestry events trigger in dedicated worlds, providing bonus XP and Forestry Kit items. Great for social Woodcutting with group bonuses and varied gameplay.

Money-Making Forest

Magic Trees at ~900 GP each or Yew Trees at ~200 GP each. Magic logs in the WC Guild provide the best GP/hr for Woodcutting at ~45K GP/hr.

Ironman Resource Route

Ironmen should prioritize Teak and Mahogany on Fossil Island for Construction planks. Bank logs, then use the Plank Make spell or Sawmill for planks.

Pet Hunting Route

The Beaver pet is obtained while Woodcutting. Higher-level trees have lower base pet chances, so Redwoods (1/72,321) or tick-manipulated Teaks give the most rolls per hour.

How This Woodcutting Calculator Generates Results

Experience Formula

Uses the official OSRS XP table. Target − Current = XP Remaining.

Tree Requirement Calculation

Logs = ⌈XP Remaining ÷ XP per Log⌉. Adjusted for Lumberjack (+2.5%) and Forestry (+1%) bonuses.

Time Projection Engine

Hours = Logs ÷ Logs per Hour. Rates adjusted for WC Guild +7 invisible boost when enabled.

Equipment Bonus Integration

Lumberjack outfit, WC Guild, and Forestry bonuses are all factored into XP and rate calculations.

Forestry Bonus Simulation

Forestry events provide approximately +1% bonus XP on average. Factored when Forestry toggle is enabled.

Recommended Training Route Logic

Recommends locations based on selected tree type: WC Guild for most trees, Fossil Island for hardwoods, Prifddinas for Crystal Shards.

Common Woodcutting Mistakes That Reduce Efficiency

  • Chopping low-value trees for too long — Switch to Teaks at 35 or Willows at 30.
  • Ignoring Forestry worlds — Free bonus XP and Forestry Kit items.
  • Delaying Woodcutting Guild access — The +7 invisible boost is massive.
  • Forgetting Lumberjack outfit bonuses — +2.5% XP saves hundreds of hours over 99.
  • Using slower axes — Upgrade to Dragon/Crystal Axe as soon as possible.
  • Choosing profit when XP is the priority — Teaks give 3× more XP/hr than Magic Trees.
  • Not planning Construction log requirements — Ironmen should bank teak/mahogany logs early.
